What Color Drapes?

Charmeuse Satin Apple Green by Fabric.com

I have a light grey carpet and sofa that's grey background and pink and light green flowers and leaves, a loveseat the same color and a aqua/green wing chair.

I would like to know which color drapes should I get - champagne or mushroom?

I would also like to know what color you think I should paint the walls.

I am thinking about changing the furniture also in the near future.

To be honest Donna I don't really like the sound of Champagne or Mushroom with the furnishings you have mentioned. As green seems to be the common thread, I would be inclined to go with that as a good colour for your drapes with a paler shade of the same color for the walls.

Many times over the years I have been given unwanted furniture by family or friends and have, through financial need, been glad of the gift. Over time though it turned out that I was having to decorate my rooms around things I didn't really like anyway and was buying new drapes and cushions to match an old sofa, the colour of which was not to my taste.

You mention that you may be changing the furniture soon - I strongly suggest you make a decision on that before spending precious time and money decorating a room to suit the colouring of furniture that soon you may replace.
