Pink Couch

I have a pink (80's mauve) sectional (not an antique) but I have to use it. It's in good condition so now I need help making a really cool living room with the use of this sectional.

Any ideas? Any pictures of someone else using a pink couch? Thanks

I would be inclined to stick with a black, white and silver color scheme if I were you. This gives you quite a classy, timeless look.

If you want to add a bit more 'wow' to the room, I would suggest that you add in another color but this will depend on the shade of your couch so is hard for me to advise without having seen it.

Really you would be looking for a color in the pink/plum family and you may find that having three of your living room walls white and the fourth wall in this color would really lift the room. I would also add in just a couple of pillows or a rug in this color too just to tie it all together.

You might find this page helpful when choosing which shade to use to co-ordinate with your couch.

Love the couch...

First... Where did you find this fab couch? I am looking for one.
Second... Look for art or a rug with a mixture of colors, it will automatically pull in other colors to use.
I have a picture already... pink, green, grey and gold. They look great together.

Hi Holly and thanks for writing in.

I'm afraid I can't help with details of stockists for the couch pictured. I think that it was a picture I took from a photo library to illustrate Tina's original question rather than a picture of her actual couch.

I love the sound of your color sheme, I'm sure that would look really great.

If you are struggling to find a couch in the right color fabric it may be worth thinking about buying a cheap couch and having it recovered.

Sofas and armchairs are often sold at greatly reduced prices if the fabric or color proves unpopular with buyers and you may be able to pick up a real bargain - especially if you know a reasonably priced upholsterer in your area or feel that you could take on the challenge yourself.
