Family Friendly Vacations

We all know this can be very stressful and parents are less interested in entertainment for their offspring and more concerned about safety - particularly when renting a pool home. Certainly in Florida the local authorities take pool safety very seriously and there are many regulations in place which the vacation property owner needs to abide by in order to be allowed a licence to rent to vacationers.

In some parts of Europe the system is less regulated and it is left to the property owner to make the decisions themselves regarding pool safety and indeed all safety aspects of the property. I know many pool home owners in Florida are irritated by pool fencing and patio door alarms but if it saves just one youngster from drowning...

Vacations with children are very special times for most parents and I know some of my favourite memories are looking back on vacations with my young daughter and her cousin. I can still hear their laughter when we spent days by the pool just relaxing, playing and having family fun - good times.

Traveling with teenagers is a whole different ball game. Of course some of them will still enjoy spending time with their family on vacation but it seems the older they get, the more important their friends become and the more they can't bear to be out of touch with back home.

Teenagers are also more sophisticated than their younger siblings and can be more demanding when it comes to all the hi-tech mod cons.
