Color Schemes

by Debra
(Denver, NC USA)

The walls in our great room are a dark taupe and I am trying to incorporate black leather furniture into the room.

What accents can we use so it will not be so drab?

Thanks!

Andrea's Response:

Hi Debra

If you are trying to lighten the look of the room, I would suggest you use cream as your accent colour.

If you are trying to brighten rather than lighten then red would be a good option.

A more contemporary look that you may like to consider that would both brighten and lighten would be a shade of aqua or light blue which would look great with black and taupe.

Kind regards,

Andrea
